When combined together they are twice as effective in fighting pain than Codeine on its own. Codeine medication can be found prepackaged in such compound form, as Tylenol #1,#2,#3, (Tylenol with Codeine), Panadeine (Panadol with Codeine), Codifen (Ibuprofen with Codeine) but patients have been known to take Codeine pills along with the supplementary pain relief agents listed above as long as the doses are kept in moderation. It can be used for general pain relief when taken with Panadol or Tylenol. Its combination with Aspirin is used to relieve headaches and Ibuprofen is chosen over Panadol and Tylenol due to its capacity to upset the stomach less than the former. Further to that a third substance Caffeine is added to further enhance the pain relief properties of Codeine especially when treating severe headaches, though this is kept to a low dose as Caffeine can be harmful in higher doses. Typical doses of Codeine in these compositions can vary from 10,30 and even 60 mg with the dosage of Tylenol and Panadol varying from 300 mg and above.
